The Backroom is a syndicate, not a fund.

There is no blind pool and no capital call. When we find a company worth backing, we do the work, write it up, and put the allocation in front of members. Each member decides on that one deal. If it is a pass, nothing happens. If it is a yes, the commitment is made through a single-deal vehicle formed for that investment.

That structure is the whole point. You keep control of your own portfolio and still get the diligence, the allocation, and the terms of a much larger check.
